About the Walk
What is the Queensland Legal Walk?
The Queensland Legal Walk is an annual walk that raises funds to increase access justice for disadvantaged and marginalised Queenslanders. In 2025, the walk will kick off at approximately 7am on Tuesday 20 May with organised walkds taking place in locations across Queensland.
Why do we Walk?
The Queensland Legal Walk is an opportunity to celebrate the power of pro bono and continue our commitment to providing access to justice for disadvantaged and marginalised Queenslanders.
With the cost-of-living crisis, the barriers to justice have never been higher for already vulnerable communities. The funds raised by our Walkers help LawRight in its work to remove these barriers by providing free legal assistance to vulnerable Queenslanders.
When does the Walk happen?
The Walk is on 20 May 2025, which is National Pro Bono Day and part of Law Week. The Brisbane walk kicks off at approximately 7am, as do most of our regional Walks. Check out our Where to Walk page to see the exact start time of your local Walk.
Where can I Walk?
While participants in the Queensland Legal Walk 2025 are welcome to walk for pro bono in any neighbourhood they choose, planned walks will be taking place in Brisbane, Toowoomba, Townsville, Cairns, the Gold Coast & the Sunshine Coast. Everyone is welcome to join!
Find the details of your local walk on our Where to Walk page.

Select the team name from the list when registering. If you've registered as an individual and would now like to join a team, email comms@lawright.org.au with your name and team name, and we'll merge you into your chosen team.
What does my registration include?
Your registration covers, a LawRight commemorative cap (to be worn on the day), a light breakfast, coffee, maps and logistical staffing on the day.
What does 'cover platform costs' mean during registration?
During the registration process, you will see an option to 'cover platform costs.' These costs are not associated with LawRight but go directly to the platform provider (Funraisin) to help maintain the system we use for the Walk.
A default amount will automatically be applied, but if you do not wish to contribute, simply select 'I don't wish to help cover costs' by using the drop down menu before completing your registration.
Fundraising
How can I fundraise for the Queensland Legal Walk 2025?
Start by telling your family and friends about the event, and ask them to donate by sponsoring your walk. All donations will go towards your individual or team totals.
How much do I need to raise?
There is no minimum fundraising requirement, but if every walker who registers this year raises $200, or each Team raises $2,000, we will reach our goal of $150,000 to keep vital services going.
How will my money be used?
This year, we are proud to announce that the first $10,000 raised will go directly to Townsville Community Law to support disaster relief efforts, ensuring essential legal help reaches those affected by crises. All remaining funds support LawRight and access-to-justice initiatives such as the Disbursement Fund. You can find out more about LawRight services at our website: www.lawright.org.au.
Are my donations tax deductible?
Yes! Any donations to the Queensland Legal Walk are tax deductible.
However, your registration fee is not tax deductible.
